At Westport Agencies we believe our fundamental challenge is to deliver building services solutions, which benefit our customers. These are the specifiers, the owners and occupiers of buildings, the contractors and the wholesalers who are users of electrical equipment.

The Tasmania wide scope of our operations, the breadth of our product range, the depth of our design and application skills, together with the quality and professionalism of our support services are all dedicated to meeting these goals.

We have behind us the worldwide resources of the principals we represent, many of which are at the leading edge of product design and development.

Consistent with many of our competitors and those of our principals, much of Westport Agencies products are distributed to installers and users via facilities provided by Electrical Wholesalers. These are our primary customers for the actual sales of products.

At Westport Agencies we aim to provide the best possible solution for any given situation. In order to do this we must understand and meet the needs of all of the people in the chain that encompasses building users, owners, contractors, and specifiers, who in conjunction with us design the services we provide.

As a part of the process we are able to offer many standard products for those customers whose needs can be met in this way, but through our principals, we are also able to custom design solutions in many areas.

At Westport Agencies we offer customers free access to in-house design of lighting and electrical solutions, with some limitations imposed, as we are certainly not in the business of taking work away from the professional specifier network.

We are continually working to improve our customer service levels and are judged by our principals in the management of "on-time delivery" of products. We are currently achieving in excess of 95% of promised delivery dates accepted by customers. Reliable delivery performance reduces costs to our customers and helps to build business partnerships.

Our commitment to quality remains steadfast, in the product area it is well supported by our principals; quality accreditation for Westport Agencies is one of the goals for the next fiscal year. We have in fact already achieved QA as a Thorn Lighting Pty Ltd branch, so we already are working with QA systems in our business. We recognize that quality comes from people and our investment in our people, our training and the continual review of our operations will be maintained.

There are exciting opportunities ahead, technological advances in the application of electronics, changes to the lighting industry, new developments in products and services, legislative change, energy efficient standards and many varied new construction initiatives are all impacting on the way we deliver our services. We see these as important challenges and ones that serve to charge us with the desire to continually change and seek alternative ways of doing things.

As a specialist supplier of electrical equipment for all four of the major development sectors: commercial and industrial, office and retail, interior and arts and the outdoors the Westport Agencies product portfolio is very comprehensive and competitive. Despite this we are continually on the lookout to add selected products to the range in order to service our customers more completely.

We consider that we are well positioned to respond to ever more sophisticated customer requirements. Our customer service, our innovative and wide range of products, our initiatives in all market segments, our professional application expertise and above all the quality of our people are very strong foundations upon which we can build for the future.

QUALITY OBJECTIVES

• All standard orders received in normal working hours are to be keyed on the same day.
• All standard orders received noted “MUST RIDE TODAY” are to be despatched the same day.
• All project orders are to be keyed as soon as practical, subject to code availability, any delays lasting more than 4 working days to be advised to me for further action.
• All other standard orders are to be scheduled to fit with other activities / work load, in any case must be despatched within 3 days. Customers are to be advised accordingly.
• Container clearance to be completed within three days of receipt.
• Once the container shipment has been checked off as complete, all back orders are to be cleared by the end of the next working day.
• Review all back orders weekly in order to keep the process moving.
• Provide bi-monthly back order reports to key customers.
• All credits are to be processed daily on receipt of correct paperwork once the returned goods have been checked for compliance for re-sale / scrap etc.
